Volleyball Recap: Lathrop Malemutes vs. Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears

Lathrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crimson Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Friday.

Lathrop's offense was headlined by Shania Lowe and Annebelle (Belle) Foster, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Izzie Tsigonis and her 12 assists. Foster was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lathrop's loss dropped their record down to 15-21-10. As for Juneau-Douglas, their victory bumped their record up to 21-17-7.

Looking ahead, Lathrop will be taking part in a tournament against Wasilla at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Juneau-Douglas, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Bettye Davis East Anchorage on the 25th.
