Softball Preview: Three Rivers Bulldogs vs. Leakey Eagles        
        
		
            
 Three Rivers is on a 13-game streak of home wins, while Leakey is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Three Rivers Bulldogs will take on the Leakey Eagles at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Last Tuesday, Three Rivers made easy work of Kenedy  and carried off  a  12-2 victory.
  Alyson Gomez made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit over 5.1 innings pitched. Gomez has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Gomez was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Miley Conard, who  scored three  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Amyah Ortiz-Lozano, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
 Meanwhile,  everything went Leakey's way against Knippa last Wednesday as Leakey made off with  a  20-5 win.
 Like Three Rivers, Leakey also got a great game from a two-way player:  Ella Kylberg. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching two innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   four  hits. Kylberg was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 In other pitching news,  Anna (AK) Fortner looked comfortable as she  tossed  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits.
 Back at the plate,  Katherine Knox was a standout: she scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.  Mckenzie Ramirez was another key contributor,  going 1-for-2 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and a  stolen base.
 Three Rivers has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 16 of their last 17 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record  this season. As for Leakey, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Three Rivers has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 8.1  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Leakey struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 5.3. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Everything went Three Rivers' way against Leakey in their previous meeting  back in March of 2021 as Three Rivers made off with  a  16-1 win. Will Three Rivers repeat their success,  or does  Leakey have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
