Volleyball Recap: Langston Hughes Takes a Loss

Langston Hughes lost against Northgate last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-5.

Zoey Pierre paced Langston Hughes' offense, picking up four kills. Pierre got some help from Chamarie Lisbon and her nine assists. Finally, Desiree Robinson and Kierstyn Bentley kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Langston Hughes' defeat dropped their record down to 10-23. As for Northgate, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-21.

Langston Hughes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Banneker on the 9th. As for Northgate, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Newnan on the 9th.
