Softball Recap: Slinger Extends Winning Streak to Four

Slinger entered their tilt with De Pere on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Redbirds. For the Owls, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 win the Redbirds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Slinger pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for De Pere, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Slinger will venture away from home to challenge Homestead at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for De Pere, they will head out to square off against Ashwaubenon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Redbirds 3.4, the Jaguars 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
