Baseball Game Preview: Mountain House Mustangs vs. East Union Lancers

For the second straight game, Mountain House will face off against East Union. The Mustangs will face off against the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mountain House has struggled recently with 14 defeats in a row, while East Union will arrive with four straight wins.

Mountain House came up short against East Union on Wednesday, falling 11-5.

For East Union's part, Blake Mount made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Mount has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kirk Simoni was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Randy Martinez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Mountain House's loss dropped their record down to 4-14-1. As for East Union, their record now sits at 12-9.
