Basketball Recap: George Jenkins Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fort Meade last Thursday, George Jenkins came back down to earth. The contest between the George Jenkins Eagles and the Rickards Raiders didn't end well, with the George Jenkins Eagles falling 55-38. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 435th, while the Raiders are ranked 132nd).

George Jenkins' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Rickards, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

George Jenkins will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mulberry at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Rickards also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Andrew Jackson on January 10, 2025. Rickards has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 168 points over their last three games.
