Basketball Recap: Providence Grove Has No Trouble Against Trinity

Providence Grove got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They enjoyed a cozy 40-21 victory over the Trinity Bulldogs on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Providence Grove pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Trinity, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Grove will take on Southern Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eastern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
