Soccer Recap: Forbush's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After flying high against Surry Central last Wednesday, Forbush came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Airy Granite Bears on Monday. Forbush were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the five matches prior), but Mount Airy's defense proved too tough.

The loss snapped Forbush's winning streak at six matches and leaves them with a 10-5-1 record. As for Mount Airy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Forbush didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against North Surry on the 8th. As for Mount Airy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 6-1 victory against East Surry on the 8th.
