Baseball Recap: Robinson Comes Up Short

Robinson was the 5-3 winner over Newton when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Maroons took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Saturday.

Robinson saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Green, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Robinson has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Newton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10.

Looking ahead, Robinson will welcome Lawrenceville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Newton, they will face off against St. Anthony at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
