Volleyball Recap: Chula Vista Comes Up Short

Chula Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Victory Christian Academy Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in March.

Victory Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brad Chier led the charge by getting 11 kills, nine digs, and four aces. Chier is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 25 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Esteban Torres, who had 23 assists and five aces.

Chula Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 10-23. As for Victory Christian Academy, they moved to 17-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Chula Vista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Valhalla on the 26th. As for Victory Christian Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Steele Canyon on the 26th.
