Baseball Recap: Newburg Comes Up Short

Newburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 23-1 to the Licking Wildcats. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 33-2 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Licking, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Newburg will venture away from home to face off against Crocker at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. Licking has already played their next contest (against Forsyth), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
