Volleyball Recap: Millbury Comes Up Short

Millbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Nipmuc Regional Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 two weeks ago.

Millbury couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Nipmuc Regional a tough time in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-19, 28-30, 25-16.

Maya Waire paced Millbury's offense, picking up seven kills. Waire got some help from Giuliana Gerolomo and her 12 assists. Finally, Nahya Bichotte kept Millbury's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Millbury's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Nipmuc Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Millbury will square off against Burncoat at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Nipmuc Regional, they will face off against Whitinsville Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
