Baseball Recap: Monrovia Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Monrovia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mooresville Christian Eagles a 12-0 shutout on Monday.

Eli Hampton was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Monrovia: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colby Schmaltz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Monrovia's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Mooresville Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Monrovia is taking a road trip to challenge Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mooresville Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
