Recap: Cy-Fair Bobcats vs. Katy Tigers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Cy-Fair Bobcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Katy by a score of 28-21. The victory was familiar territory for Cy-Fair who now have 11 in a row.
Cy-Fair's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Owens, who threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns. Connor Porter was another key contributor, picking up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Cy-Fair has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.8 points per game. As for Katy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
Cy-Fair will square off against North Shore at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. North Shore knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully Cy-Fair likes a good challenge. Katy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
