Football Recap: Halifax Academy Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Halifax Academy's offense. They were beaten by the John Paul II Catholic Saints 49-0 on Friday. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Aidan Hardee threw for 38 yards on three of seven attempts. Ben Christy was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards.

John Paul II Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Crisean Williams, who rushed for 83 yards and one score. Williams also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making three total tackles. Gentry McMinn was in the mix too, providing John Paul II Catholic with two touchdowns.

Halifax Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for John Paul II Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Halifax Academy has already played their next game, a 41-8 loss against St. David's on the 12th. As for John Paul II Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-6 win against Lawrence Academy on the 12th.
