St. Petersburg won the last time they faced Gibbs and things went their way on Thursday too. The Green Devils blew past the Gladiators 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Green Devils.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: St. Petersburg took every set by at least 19 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-4, 25-4, 25-6.

Abigail Buffington paced St. Petersburg's offense, picking up nine kills. Buffington got some help from Annika Xenakis and her 28 assists. Buffington was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

St. Petersburg's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Gibbs, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

St. Petersburg will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Petersburg Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on September 3. As for Gibbs, they will welcome Clearwater at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
