Basketball Recap: Isaac Castillo Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat LEE

SA Roosevelt won the last time they faced LEE and things went their way on Wednesday too. The SA Roosevelt Rough Riders walked away with a 59-52 win over the LEE Volunteers. Given the Rough Riders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Volunteers are ranked 724th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

SA Roosevelt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Castillo, who posted ten points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Taiwan Dowd, who had eight points and eight rebounds.

SA Roosevelt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.

SA Roosevelt will square off against Churchill at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. SA Roosevelt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season. As for LEE, they will venture away from home to face off against Reagan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Reagan also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 54.4 points per game.
