Football Game Preview: Pioneer Titans vs. Trinity Classical Academy Knights + Official Tickets

The Pioneer Titans are taking a road trip to take on the Trinity Classical Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Pioneer is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Godinez Fundamental as they made off with a 42-21 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Titans just coasted through the last quarter.

Pioneer got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Anderson out in front who rushed for 91 yards on only seven carries, and also threw for 159 yards and one touchdown on only 14 passes. Anderson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Titans' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-6 otherwise. A healthy portion of Anderson's aerial production (102 yards to be exact) went to Jose Rojas.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trinity Classical Academy). They walked away with a 47-35 victory over Gabrielino on Friday.

Pioneer better keep an eye on Hudson Sweitzer. He was instrumental in Trinity Classical Academy's win, rushing for 347 yards and five scores while picking up 12.9 yards per carry. Sweitzer really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Another player making a difference was Andrew Carlson, who rushed for 278 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 17.4 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trinity Classical Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 625 rushing yards. They are 5-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Trinity Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.5 points over those games. As for Pioneer, their record is now 5-6.
