Victory Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Gray led the charge by scoring 23 points along with nine assists and five steals. That's the first time this season that Gray posted eight or more assists. Derek Edmond was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of 20 wins, Olympian's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Eastlake. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Victory Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Olympian, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-1.
