New Hope won the last time they faced Houston and Jacob Jefferson did his part to make sure it happened again. The Trojans really took it to the Hilltoppers for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-18 win for which the team can thank Jefferson, who rushed for 227 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 124 rushing yards per game.

When it comes to explaining why Houston lost on Friday, don't look at Tychason Townsend. Despite the final result, he picked up 78 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The victory got New Hope back to even at 2-2. As for Houston, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, New Hope will face off against Saltillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Houston, they will square off against Amory at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Hilltoppers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
