Softball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Newton's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Vernon Vikings on Tuesday. The Braves' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Vernon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Newton will face off against North Warren Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups. As for Vernon, they will venture away from home to take on Morris Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
