Corner posted their closest win since February 22nd on Tuesday. They skirted past the Hueytown Golden Gophers 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Yellow Jackets: when they faced off against the Golden Gophers back in February, they had to take a 10-8 loss.

Lilly Perkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adalyn Owens, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Crimson Erwin, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Owens wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Corner lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matchups.

Corner's record now sits at 7-12-1. As for Hueytown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

Corner will challenge Jasper at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hueytown, they will venture away from home to face off against McAdory at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Golden Gophers surely won't give up without a fight.
