Basketball Recap: Oxbow Comes Up Short

Oxbow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winooski Spartans. The Olympians lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 67-34 score last time.

Oxbow's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Winooski, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Oxbow will head out on the road to challenge Sharon Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Winooski, they will face off against Williamstown at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
