Verdugo Hills is 9-1 against Arleta since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Dons will face off against the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Verdugo Hills didn't have quite enough to beat Chavez and fell 3-2.

Verdugo Hills took Chavez into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking ten-point loss. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-20, 22-25, 25-14, 15-5.

Meanwhile, Arleta entered their tilt with Monroe on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 3-0 win.

Arleta walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-14.

Arleta's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Verdugo Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Verdugo Hills might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Arleta in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Dons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
