Baseball Recap: Cypress Creek Find Success

Cypress Creek got themselves on the board against Freedom on Tuesday, but Freedom never followed suit. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 5-0. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Patriots back in February, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Cypress Creek got a great performance from Miguel Figueroa as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Figueroa also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cypress Creek is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Cypress Creek's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jesus Barreto, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Rodery Polanco also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Cypress Creek's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Freedom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress Creek will host Tohopekaliga at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freedom, they will be playing at home against University at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
