Baseball Recap: Peyton Takes a Loss

If Peyton was riding high fresh off their 24-0 takedown of Mitchell on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell 7-2 to the Las Animas Trojans on Saturday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Bryce Love was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Peyton is 4-1 when Love posts three or more hits, but 0-3 otherwise.

Peyton dropped their record down to 4-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Las Animas, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Peyton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-10 win against Byers on the 9th. As for Las Animas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-3 defeat against Hoehne on the 7th.
