Baseball Recap: Orange Extends Winning Streak to Three

Orange won against Savanna last Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Garden Grove Argonauts with a sharp 8-1 victory. The Panthers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 21st (when they won 20-1).

Orange got a great performance from Daniel Vergara as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Vergara has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Myles Kennedy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Orange's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-0-1 (and 10-16 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Alex Mendoza, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The win (which was Orange's third in a row) raised their record to 12-16-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Garden Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.

As of now, neither Orange nor the Argonauts have any future games scheduled.
