Basketball Recap: West Potomac Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Potomac walked away with it. They came out on top against the Langley Saxons by a score of 48-37 on Tuesday. The win almost wasn't to be: the Wolverines were down 28-13 in the second quarter.

Olivia Jones was her usual excellent self, going 7-for-12 to rack up 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. What's more, she also posted a 58% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Lina Hashimi was another key player, shooting 56% from the field en route to 12 points.

Langley's loss came despite strong showings from Mariah Armah and Peyton Daley. Armah dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards, while Daley posted six points and seven rebounds.

West Potomac's record is now 25-4. As for Langley, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-4.

West Potomac wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 77-39 defeat against Osbourn Park on the 7th. Langley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
