Baseball Recap: Brimfield Wins Going Away Against ROWVA/Williamsfield

Brimfield won the last time they faced ROWVA/Williamsfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Indians put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 14-5 win. Considering the Indians have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaeden Schatsiek made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Schatsiek was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Brimfield: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Dane Fagerburg was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brady Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Brimfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Coming up, Brimfield will face off against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, they are taking a road trip to square off against Bureau Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
