Softball Recap: Prairie View's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Prairie View came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Osawatomie Trojans with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Buffalos have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Laramie Stevens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Prairie View let Rian Stainbrook and Adyson Rhynerson run wild. Stainbrook went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one RBI, while Rhynerson went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most hits Stainbrook has posted over her last 11 games. Kadance Shelton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Prairie View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 8-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Prairie View back to even at 10-10. As for Osawatomie, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Prairie View beat the Trojans by a score of 15-2 later that day.
