Basketball Recap: Jaydan Jeantinord's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bridge to Independence over Conrad Academy

The Bridge to Independence Wildcats were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 72-68 to the Conrad Academy Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly four points.

Bridge to Independence's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaydan Jeantinord, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Jeantinord is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamal Joseph, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Bridge to Independence and nudges their season record down to 1-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. As for Conrad Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Bridge to Independence will head out on the road to challenge Saints Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Conrad Academy, they will host Elite Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
