Softball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 17-4 to the Stevens Raiders. If the Kernels were looking for revenge after losing 16-5 to the Raiders when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mitchell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Miedema, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Stevens, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Mitchell will face off against Sturgis Brown at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Stevens has already played their next game (against Yankton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
