King James donated $1 million to renovate the basketball facilities at his alma mater.

In addition to bringing Nike on board to outfit all of the athletic teams at
St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron, Ohio), James donated $1 million to renovate the school's basketball gym.
The result is The LeBron James Arena, which opened in December of 2014 and seats about 1,800 fans.
Christopher Magnuson of MaxPreps was on hand last Friday as St. Vincent-St. Mary opened Ohio's Division II state playoffs with a 97-37 win over Northwest (Canal Fulton).
It's been a special season for the Fighting Irish, who are 23-0 and ranked No. 3 nationally by MaxPreps. Head coach Dru Joyce was a finalist for the Naismith National Coach of the Year award.
James played at St. Vincent-St. Mary from 1999-2003, helping the Akron school win three state titles and a national title.
