Soccer Game Preview: Porter vs. Pace

The Porter Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Pace Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Porter is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Porter's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Rivera. Considering Porter have won four matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Pace's offense. They came up short against Lopez on Friday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Pace can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 652nd, while Lopez are ranked 12th).

Pace's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Porter, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-1.

Porter skirted past Pace 1-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Do the Cowboys have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
