Recap: Tolono Unity Rockets vs. Oakwood Comets
The Tolono Unity Rockets entered their tilt with the Oakwood Comets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went Tolono Unity's way against Oakwood on Thursday as Tolono Unity made off with a 51-25 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tolono Unity also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tolono Unity to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reagan Little, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The game was Little's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Ray, who scored 16 points.
Despite the defeat, Oakwood had strong showings from Nikita Taylor, who scored six points along with six steals, and Jaydah Arrowsmith, who scored six points. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Tolono Unity's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Oakwood, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Tolono Unity and Armstrong will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Oakwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Benton Central at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th. Benton Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Oakwood in their respective states (Benton Central is ranked 28th in Indiana, while Oakwood is ranked 544th in Illinois).
