Soccer Recap: Charlestown Comes Up Short

After flying high against Austin last Thursday, Charlestown came back down to earth. The Pirates took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Lutheran Cougars on Tuesday. Charlestown were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Trinity Lutheran apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Charlestown dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Trinity Lutheran, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Charlestown will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against North Harrison at 6:00 p.m. As for Trinity Lutheran, they will head out on the road to take on Bedford North Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Lutheran will be up against Bedford North Lawrence's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.14 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
