Lexington extended their postseason success on Saturday against West. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-16 victory over the Trojans. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Taylor Akin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 7.2 innings while giving up six earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Akin was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Aubrie Mathews and Maya Bell did most of the damage at the plate: Mathews went 3-for-6 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Bell went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Lexington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
