Basketball Recap: Aubrey Rogers Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Aubrey Rogers finally came back down to earth on Monday. They were beaten by the Evangelical Christian Sentinels 59-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Patriots have suffered since January 30, 2024.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madelyn Hamisch, who posted six points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Insana, who put up four points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Even though they lost, Aubrey Rogers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 20 consecutive games.

Evangelical Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie O'Berski, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals O'Berski has posted since back in February of 2024. Areille Marc was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 16 points and five boards.

Aubrey Rogers' defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-5. As for Evangelical Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Aubrey Rogers has already played their next contest, a 66-20 win against Fort Myers on the 28th. As for Evangelical Christian, they will be playing at home against Golden Gate at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
