Soccer Game Preview: Phoebus vs. Menchville

Phoebus hasn't had much luck against Menchville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Phantoms will be playing at home against the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. Phoebus has given up an average of 4.1 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Phoebus is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Woodside on Thursday. They lost 6-1 to the Wolverines. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Phoebus were already down 5-0.

Meanwhile, Menchville kept a clean sheet against Bethel on Thursday. They blew past the Bruins 4-0. Menchville might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Menchville's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Phoebus, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Phoebus suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Menchville in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Phantoms avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
