Baseball Recap: Dunedin Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Dunedin's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let the Countryside Cougars get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Colton Beard's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Dunedin's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Will Fallon, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Brylee Gooch also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Dunedin's record now sits at 8-9. As for Countryside, they moved to 11-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Dunedin will be playing in front of their home fans against Lemont at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Countryside, they will head out to face off against Boca Ciega at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
