Softball Recap: Knightstown Gets the Win

Knightstown got themselves on the board against Wes-Del on Thursday, but Wes-Del never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Warriors. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Lanee Swindell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Behny, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Knightstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wes-Del only posted an OBP of .276.

Knightstown now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Wes-Del, they moved to 10-4 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightstown will be taking part in a tournament against Tri at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wes-Del, they will take on Yorktown in a tournament on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Warriors have won seven straight at home, while the Tigers won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
