Softball Game Preview: McCamey Badgers vs. Wink Wildcats

The McCamey Badgers will head out on the road to challenge the Wink Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. McCamey has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 13.

McCamey lost 17-6 to Ozona on Tuesday.

Julissa Trejo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Phoebe Carrillo also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Wink fell victim to Reagan County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Owls, falling 19-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Owls: they've now lost five in a row.

Wink saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sadie Poor, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double.

McCamey's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Wink, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 7-6.

McCamey suffered a grim 18-3 defeat to Wink in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Badgers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
