Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Rudder

Rudder had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Lehman Lobos. While the Rangers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Rudder got a great performance from Jayden Gonzalez as he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance gave Gonzalez a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Rudder's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Menchaca, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Rudder's victory bumped their record up to 8-2-2. As for Lehman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Rudder wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-5 win against Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin on the 7th. As for Lehman, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-1 victory against Pflugerville Connally on the 7th.
