Volleyball Game Preview: Palatka Panthers vs. St. Augustine Yellow Jackets + How To Watch

Palatka is 0-10 against St. Augustine since August of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Palatka challenged Taylor on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Wildcats. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-12 in the first set.

Palatka started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Palatka got top-tier performance from Sydni Spencer, who had 27 digs and two aces. Spencer has been hot recently, having also posted 15 or more assists the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sofia Zimmerman, who had 15 assists and 11 digs.

Meanwhile, St. Augustine suffered their biggest defeat since September 24th on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Menendez.

St. Augustine was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-13, 25-21.

Palatka's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for St. Augustine, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Palatka came up short against St. Augustine in their previous meeting back in September, falling 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
