Volleyball Game Preview: Thompsonville vs. Wayne City Indians

Thompsonville will venture away from home to challenge the Wayne City Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thompsonville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Thompsonville came up short against Gallatin County and fell 2-0.

While Thompsonville was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Wayne City posted their closest victory since August 28th on Tuesday. They skirted past Altamont 2-1.

Wayne City had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 27-29, 25-22, 25-21.

Wayne City is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season. As for Thompsonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-23.

Thompsonville couldn't quite get it done against Wayne City in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Thompsonville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
