Baseball Recap: Providence Academy Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Providence Academy barely beat Mounds Park Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions' pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 13-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by six runs or more this season.

Caleb Cisewski looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Joe Spades was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Burns, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI.

Providence Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
