St. Petersburg Catholic is 1-9 against Saint Stephen's Episcopal since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Thursday. The St. Petersburg Catholic Barons will be playing at home against the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons  at 4:15  p.m. St. Petersburg Catholic will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  match than the last.
Having struggled with 12  defeats in a row dating back to last season, St. Petersburg Catholic  turned things around against Southeast  on Monday. They put the hurt on the Seminoles with a sharp  29-20 victory. With that  win, the Barons brought their scoring average up to 10  runs per game.
St. Petersburg Catholic let  Kamya Sanders and  Catie Taylor run wild. Sanders  got on base  in five of her six plate appearances with one  home run, four  runs,  and five  RBI, while  Taylor  got on base  in five of her six plate appearances with four  runs, four  RBI,  and one  double. The dominant performance gave  Sanders a new career-high in  runs.  Mariah Falcon was another key player,  scoring four  runs while  getting on base  in five of her six plate appearances.
 St. Petersburg Catholic  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .745. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Saint Stephen's Episcopal had just enough and edged out Seffner Christian  4-3 on Tuesday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.
 Rylan Goar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three  runs (all of which were unearned)  on four hits.
 At the plate,  Genevieve Hoard was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Rozlynn Boggs, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Saint Stephen's Episcopal now  has a winning record of 3-2. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-3.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  St. Petersburg Catholic has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .564.
