Softball Game Preview: Dillon Christian Warriors vs. Marlboro Academy Dragons

Dillon Christian is 2-7 against Marlboro Academy since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Dillon Christian Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Marlboro Academy Dragons at 5:00 p.m. Marlboro Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dillon Christian, who comes in off a win.

Marlboro Academy's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Dillon Christian hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Dillon Christian's pitcher stepped up to hand King's Academy a 3-0 shutout on Friday.

Lilli Shooter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Chloe Powell was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples and one run.

Marlboro Academy kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against Dillon Christian, falling 10-0.

Dillon Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Marlboro Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Dillon Christian's way against Marlboro Academy when the teams last played on Thursday, as Dillon Christian made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dillon Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
