Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Adara Machowiak and Alana Wright Lead South Bend Career Academy to Victory

South Bend Career Academy had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Michiana Christian Home Educators on Thursday, sneaking past 44-41. This was a revenge game for the Trailblazers: when they faced off against Michiana Christian Home Educators back in November of 2024, they had to take a 40-23 defeat.

Leading South Bend Career Academy to victory were Alana Wright and Adara Machowiak. Wright posted 14 points, while Machowiak scored 13 points. Those 13 points gave Machowiak a new career-high. Ja'Laeyah Hopkins was another key player, putting up seven points.

South Bend Career Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Michiana Christian Home Educators, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

South Bend Career Academy will challenge Bowman Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. South Bend Career Academy is facing Bowman Academy at the right time seeing as Bowman Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Michiana Christian Home Educators does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
