Softball Recap: Mayer Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Mayer's offense. They came up short against the Camp Verde Cowboys on Friday, falling 18-0. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Cowboys recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Mayer's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Camp Verde, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Mayer will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Valley Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on March 25th. Mayer has given up an average of 17 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Camp Verde, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 19-2 victory against Baboquivari on the 14th.
